Synergy In The Service Industry
At Moonlight Pizza & Brewpub, we know how hard the food and beverage industry works—and we believe access to mental health care should never be out of reach. That’s why we’re proud to support Synergy in the Service Industry, a nonprofit dedicated to removing barriers to affordable mental health and substance use treatment for service workers right here in Chaffee County.
Who They Are
Synergy steps in where health insurance often doesn’t—especially for food and beverage workers who are frequently uninsured or underinsured. They pay for therapy sessions directly, help people find affordable health insurance, and offer a clear, simple path to care. Their mission goes beyond access—they’re working to normalize mental health support and create healthier, more sustainable workplaces for everyone in the industry.
In under a year, Synergy has already helped connect 25 local service workers with mental health and substance use treatment. Their work is making a tangible difference in both individual lives and the broader hospitality community.
What They’re Up To
Synergy hosts community education events and trainings to raise awareness around mental health and reduce the stigma that too often prevents people from seeking help. They’ve also partnered with CHOW (Culinary Hospitality Outreach and Wellness) to offer free peer-to-peer online support groups.

Where the Moonlight Monday Funds Go
Every dollar raised during Synergy’s Moonlight Monday goes directly to paying for therapy sessions for local food and beverage workers. It’s real help, for real people, right now.
What’s Next for MMCO?
Their goal moving forward is to connect 30 people per year to affordable mental health and substance use treatment. By expanding partnerships and awareness, they’re building a future where mental health support is standard—not a luxury—for service industry workers.
